Veterinarian: Dr. Lon Lemon
Special Interests: Orthopedic Surgery, Dentistry/Oral Surgery, Soft Tissue Surgery, Geriatric and Orthopedic Care
Education: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University 1971
Dr. Lemon has practiced in Omaha since 1971 and established Animal Clinic Suburban, P.C. in 1974. When he is not caring for your pet, he keeps busy on his farm with his wife, Kit, their Australian Cattle Dog, “Cooper,” and their barn cat, “Cleo”. They also raise horses and cattle. Dr. Lemon enjoys roping and cowhorse events.

Dr. Nelson practiced in Aberdeen, South Dakota for 14 years before moving to Omaha. She has been with Animal Clinic Suburban since 1994. When she’s not practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Nelson enjoys training and competing her German Wirehaired Pointer, “Outlaw”. She and her husband recently moved to an acreage where gardening and bird-watching are also favorite pastimes.

Receptionist:
Suzanne has been on our staff since 2002. She enjoys meeting and greeting people and their pets. She also does in home pet-sitting. Prior to joining the staff she was a manager for 6 years at TCBY yogurt, where she conversed with people over sweet treats. Suzanne has a photography degree and enjoys taking pictures and singing. She has 3 grown children and 8 grandchildren, 4 of which are quadruplets! She also has 3 grand-dogs. She has been battling cancer recently, and while she may be out of the office for a while, she hopes to return soon! She is missed!

Carrie has been with Animal Clinic Suburban since 2000. She works closely with Dr. Lemon in anesthesia, surgery, radiology and dentistry. She went to ISU for 3 years studying Animal Science after completing Veterinary Technician School in 1994. She has worked for various clinics in Iowa and Nebraska. Carrie has a son in college.
Carrie has been with Animal Clinic Suburban since 2000. She works closely with Dr. Lemon in anesthesia, surgery, radiology and dentistry. She went to ISU for 3 years studying Animal Science after completing Veterinary Technician School in 1994. She has worked for various clinics in Iowa and Nebraska. Carrie has a son in college.
Licensed Veterinary Technician:
Shawna has been with us since 2006. She runs our lab, providing us important clues to your pets’ illness, and comes to us after 5 years at UNMC working as a Research Tech in Comparative Medicine. She graduated from Veterinary Technician School in 1999. Shawna has 3 children; Austin, 16, Megan, 11, and Robert, 9, and she is recently engaged!. She likes to spend time outdoors, swimming, biking, and working with horses. She also enjoys cuddling and playing with our cute boarding patients!

Jessi has been with us since 2008. She graduated from Eastern Wyoming College in 1998. She is married with 3 children; Nicklas, 10, Emmalea, 8, and Tanner, 5. They live on an acreage with horses, chickens, cats, and their 2 dogs, a Shih-poo named “Lucy” and “Dolly,” a Border Collie. She likes to garden, do canning, and go boating.
Jessi has been with us since 2008. She graduated from Eastern Wyoming College in 1998. She is married with 3 children; Nicklas, 10, Emmalea, 8, and Tanner, 5. Whitney has been on our staff since 2002. She has her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science from ISU and is currently enrolled in her veterinary technician education. Whitney has a mixed breed dog, “Phoebe” and 5 cats, “Blackie,” “Scampi,” “Shrimp,” “Pearl,” and “Pumpkin,” all of whom she rescued from various situations. She also enjoys gardening and pet-sitting, in her spare time.
